This hands-on one-day training course will provide practical tools and strategies on how social marketing and health communication can be used in public health practice. The course will introduce participants to the social marketing and communication planning process, and will cover strategies that can be used in public health interventions. Course content includes: social marketing/health communication planning process, and an overview of major communication strategies, including strategic use of the news media and social media. Participants will learn how to select appropriate communication strategies for a given health issue and will receive supervised hands-on experience from a series of exercises.
