This course is a modified version of a Problem-Based Learning or PBL case previously completed by multidisciplinary groups of health care students and professionals. PBL is a process of self-directed learning through identification and research of issues relevant to particular disciplines. This particular case explores the questions and consequences evoked by an infectious disease outbreak in Hawaii.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Identify the signs and symptoms associated with a case of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).
2. Identify proper public health interventions for dealing with an infectious disease outbreak.
