This course is a modified version of a Problem-Based Learning or PBL case previously completed by multidisciplinary groups of health care students and professionals. PBL is a process of self-directed learning through identification and research of issues relevant to particular disciplines. This particular case explores the questions and consequences evoked by an infectious disease outbreak in Hawaii.
1. Identify the signs and symptoms associated with a case of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).
2. Identify proper public health interventions for dealing with an infectious disease outbreak.
