2017 State of the State Address on Georgia’s Health Priorities

Training Description
Dr. J. Pat O’Neal, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Public Health (GDPH) will provide a State of the State Address on Georgia’s Health Priorities. The lecture will provide an overview of the health priorities for the state of Georgia, including specific health problems and target outcomes. Dr. O’Neal will also discuss strategies in place to address these health problems and what needs to be done to improve the health and vitality of Georgia’s residents.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the lecture participants will be able to:

  • Identify the priority health issues in Georgia for the next year.
  • Describe at least two strategies (e.g., programs, interventions) to address health priorities.
  • Identify partnerships needed to accomplish the work of the Georgia Department of Public Health.
